Potluck Crumbs' Mission is to:
1. Share the good news of grace, hope and joy brought by Jesus Christ.
2. Attract a diverse worshiping audience to Disciples and UCC churches.
3. Counter a message of fear and danger.
Biblical basis for Potluck Crumbs
Luke 14:15-24, NRSV. “Blessed is anyone who will eat bread in the Kingdom of God!”
So begins Jesus’ parable of the Great Banquet. Members of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the United Church of Christ should be well familiar with this parable, as the churches are known for their lavish potluck dinners. Both traditions have passed down their faith and traditions through the breaking of bread and the sharing of green bean casseroles. That is why this marketing business has been named, “Potluck Crumbs.”
The parable describes a wealthy man who wants to host a feast for all his powerful and rich friends. To his dismay, they all give excuses for not making it to his dinner. Does that end the man’s dinner plans? Oh, no, not at all. The wealthy man turns around and sends invitations to the poor, blind and disabled. The banquet hall is filled.
Jesus wants a full house in the Kingdom of God. He needs people to go out into the streets, crowds and marketplaces to invite all kinds of people to eat with him.
That is the sole purpose and mission of Potluck Crumbs.

Nicodemus Asparagus Spaghetti Sauce

If you want to be born again, this sauce will get you there. 4-6 stalks asparagus, cut into 1-in. long pieces. 2 14.5 oz. cans diced tomatoes. 1/2 cup diced fresh tomato. 1/4 cup chopped onion. 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar. 1/2 teaspoon garlic pepper. Mix all the ingredients together and cook on low-medium heat for 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally.

Clergy Obesity

Several studies can be found sounding the alarm over clergy obesity rates, which are higher than the general population. My recipes may help, as I have refrained from eating meat out of concern for the environment. You will find my recipes to be full of vegetables, both canned and fresh. Organic produce adds to the flavor.
