Mission
Potluck Crumbs' Mission is to:
1. Share the good news of grace, hope and joy brought by Jesus Christ.
2. Provide healing through music at the Prayground of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Mansfield, Ohio, 200 W. Third St.
3. Counter a message of fear and danger.
Biblical basis for Potluck Crumbs
Luke 14:15-24, NRSV. “Blessed is anyone who will eat bread in the Kingdom of God!”
So begins Jesus’ parable of the Great Banquet. Members of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) should be well familiar with this parable, as Disciples churches are known for their lavish potluck dinners. The tradition has passed down its brand of  faith through the breaking of bread and the sharing of green bean casseroles.
The parable describes a wealthy man who wants to host a feast for all his powerful and rich friends. To his dismay, they all give excuses for not making it to his dinner. Does that end the man’s dinner plans? Oh, no, not at all. The wealthy man turns around and sends invitations to the poor, blind and disabled. The banquet hall is filled.
Jesus wants a full house in the Kingdom of God. He needs people to go out into the streets, crowds and marketplaces to invite all kinds of people to eat with him.
That is the sole purpose and mission of Potluck Crumbs.

Clergy Obesity

Several studies can be found sounding the alarm over clergy obesity rates, which are higher than the general population. My recipes may help, as I have refrained from eating meat out of concern for the environment. You will find my recipes to be full of vegetables, both canned and fresh. Organic produce adds to the flavor.
